Lynyrd Skynyrd Complete Set

$ 220.00

Complete Lynyrd Skynyrd (original band members), 6 album collection. Each album was originally released between 1973-77.
     Skynyrd made their debut in 1973 with 'Pronounced 'Leh-'nerd 'Skin-'nerd,' a Top 30 hit that included four of the group's best-loved Southern-rock favorites: 'Gimme Three Steps,' 'Simple Man,' 'Tuesday's Gone' and 'Free Bird.' A consistent seller, the album eventually went double platinum in 1987.
     The collection includes 1975's 'Nuthin' Fancy,' and 'Gimme Back My Bullets' and 'One More From the Road,' both released in 1976. The latter, which went triple platinum, is Lynyrd Skynyrd's only live album featuring Van Zant.
     'Second Helping,' from 1974, has enjoyed similar sales success -- as did 1977's 'Street Survivors,' the fifth and final studio effort featuring founders Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins, who were killed with guitarist Steve Gaines and others in a tragic plane crash shortly after the album's release.
     The collection's centerpiece is the original LP release of "Street Survivors". Three days after the album's release, the band's chartered airplane crashed en route to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
      The original cover sleeve for Street Survivors had featured a photograph of the band standing on a city street with all its buildings engulfed in flames.  After the plane crash, this cover became highly controversial. Out of respect for the deceased (and at the request of Teresa Gaines, Steve's widow), MCA Records withdrew the original cover and replaced it with a similar image of the band against a simple black background.

     The vinyl is in great condition, EX to Near Mint. Covers are in EX, with the exception of Nuthin' Fancy, which is VG.
     This is the original and complete discography of the original members of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Option to add the Original 1977 Street Survivors Tour program for an additional $75.
